Sopwith Triplane Model Airplane

Sopwith Triplane Electric ARF
Used in combat by the British Royal Naval Air Service, this innovative three wing design gave the Sopwith Triplane increased maneuverability and climb rate, as compared to the biplanes. Visibility from the cockpit was outstanding but the Sopwith was slower and less heavily armed than its German opponents. The Germans were impressed with its performance and a captured Sopwith Triplane inspired the development of the Fokker Dr.I.
