Clipped Wing Cub Model Airplane
Clipped Wing Cub 1/6-Scale BIY
In 1969 Hazel Sig, President of Sig Mfg. Co., rebuilt a standard 1941 Piper J-3 Cub for airshow flying. To increase aerobatic performance, 40" (1 m) was clipped off each wing panel and the engine reworked for greater horsepower. The result is a highly aerobatic Cub that is a real joy to fly!
Smooth aileron rolls, snap rolls, Immelmann turns, and many other rolling maneuvers that are difficult in a standard wing J-3. The SIG 1/6-scale model inherits all of the delightful flight characteristics of Hazel's full-scale Clipped Wing Cub. The kit features conventional balsa/ply construction with precision die-cut parts and a sturdy one piece wing with spruce wing struts.
Complete hardware pack includes engine mount, formed wire landing gear, molded ABS plastic engine cowl, authentic decals, full-size plans, photo illustrated instruction, etc.
