KAVAN Shrinking Dope COLOR, Blue, 250ml

Blue nitro dope for shrinking covering papers and canvases, resistant to glow fuel and gasoline. For brush, roller or spray application.

Use: thin the dope as needed with KAVAN Thinner STANDARD; apply to the covering with a soft flat brush (preferred), roller or spray. Apply 2–5 coats; always allow the dope to dry for at least 24 hours and sand with 600–1000 grit fine sandpaper. When used on a model with an engine, it is not necessary to apply an additional fuel-resistant topcoat, but one or two coats of KAV56.9990 KAVAN Top Coat POLY will greatly increase resistance to mechanical damage.

Removal of excess undried dope: cloth or paper towel dampened with KAVAN Thinner STANDARD.

Dilution of dope: the dope is supplied in concentrated form, depending on the need and method of application it can be diluted with KAVAN Thinner STANDARD in any ratio to achieve the optimum consistency for application.

Mixing of the dope: the dope can be mixed in any ratio with KAVAN STANDARD or COLOR shrinking dopes. Due to the different compositions, we do not recommend mixing with KAVAN CLASSIC series dopes and thinners.

Suitable for: model covering papers and fabrics, e.g. Vlies, covering canvases.

Not suitable for: materials not resistant to organic solvents (polystyrene foam, etc.).

Weight gain: 10ml of undiluted varnish adds about 1.5g to the weight of the model.

Storage: in a tightly closed container, in a cool, dry and dark place (at 15°C to 25°C / 59°F to 77 °F). Do not expose to temperatures below 5°C / 41°F and never to frost.

Shelf life: under proper storage conditions, we guarantee a shelf life of 1 year in the original unopened packaging, while maintaining the above product properties.
